Now, for those of you that are new to the internet, TheOnion.com is a “SATIRICAL newspaper”. This means that the website MAKES UP stories based extremely loosely on actual events.
Twitter exploded, as it always does whenever a story or rumor is released, because EVERYBODY wants to think that they are the first to “break” the next big story. However, a lot of these “Twitter journalists” don’t take the time to do ANY research at all (or take the time to have any common sense, for that matter). Let’s look at a few examples:
